The PAPA awards were held at the Lancaster London hotel in London this week, and as finalists we were invited down to the event to fly the flag for Tony Macaroni. We were hoping for a night of Italian banter – which is basically lots of lively hand gesturing – and some good food, but we certainly didn’t expect to walk away with 2 prestigious awards at the end of the night! The competition was very heated, so to win 2 awards is a huge achievement for us and shows how far we’ve come as a business in recent years as we continue to grow.
The awards that we won were ‘Pizza restaurant chain award (regional)’ and ‘Best pasta chef 2016′, both of which were very competitive categories. Not that we’re boasting or anything.
The great thing about the PAPA awards is that it doesn’t matter whether you’re a national chain or an independent restaurant – if you’ve produced fantastic food and provided a great service then you’ll be recognised and rewarded for your efforts. So to end up with 2 awards is kind of a big deal.
If you can’t tell yet, we’re very happy – and surprised – with this outcome, so we’ll probably be going on about this for a while. We’re even considering getting an open-top bus and parading the streets of Scotland. Too far?
